Dear IC Explorer,
Hello, my name is Mrs. Potts and I will be your Lab Instructor (teacher) as we explore God and the wonderful world He created. We will be using Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) to discover and create during our year together.
I hope you will come to our Immaculate Conception Ice Cream Social and Pre- K Open House on Tuesday, August 16th from 4 to 6 pm. I can’t wait to meet you! You will meet some of your fellow explorers, pick up your information packet and grab an ice cream as you leave. We will meet in our classroom.
The first official day of Pre-K (students only) will be Thursday, August 18th, from 8:00-11:15a.m. Those students signed up for afternoon daycare will stay until 3:00 p.m. I am looking forward to spending a great first day of school with all my new friends!
Our Parent Information Night will be announced soon. I will share information on our Pre-K Curriculum and some of the special things we have planned for the year.
Blessings,
Mrs. Cathy Potts
Dear Parents,
We would like to welcome you and your child to the Immaculate Conception Pre-K. We hope to start your child on the right trail in their educational journey. We want your child's first experience with school to be positive and joy-filled. In the year ahead, you will see your child develop socially, physically, emotionally and spiritually. We hope you and your child will love being a part of our I.C. family.
Blessings,
Mrs. Cathy Potts [email protected]

- We provide a school bag/tote for the children to carry their special creations and work home. Check them daily for papers and notes. The clip on their bag can be used to alert you and me of important notes. You may send in lunch money or give us new information on who is picking up your child that day clipped on their bag so that we will see it and know exactly what is going on. (Please, no additional clip toys on the bag, as the bags will tear).
- Our parents provide snacks on a rotating basis. We try to have one of your snack weeks coincide with your child's birthday. In keeping with our school's Wellness Plan, we ask that you bring healthy snacks. Please send ready-to-serve or pre-packaged snacks that are low in sugar (for example: apple slices, cheese, crackers, popcorn, etc). Please avoid sugary treats (for example: cupcakes, cookies, donuts, etc). If you have any questions do not hesitate to email me. On your child’s birthday, you may bring a small treat like mini-muffins, mini-cupcakes or a cookie. We will provide the cups and napkins for snack time. The snack schedule will be sent to you and posted on our website. The snack person is also our line leader for the week. The children love that!
- Your child's clothing should be comfortable and designed for play. "Sunday Best" clothes are best saved for Sundays. Because we will do a great deal of climbing outdoors on the playground, we ask that your child wear tennis shoes to school. If wearing a dress, your child must wear “cartwheel” shorts for modesty reasons. Please have your child dress appropriately for the weather. We go outside every possible day unless it is raining or extremely cold. The fresh air and large muscle activities are a very integral part of our day. If your child is not feeling well enough to play outdoors, it may be best if they stay home on that day. Please label your child's clothing. The inside tag is a good place to write your family name so that their jacket or sweater will not get lost. Children do have accidents and spills occasionally, so please send a complete change of clothes for your child in a zip lock bag with their name written on the bag.
- Toys and jewelry are best left at home. Thank you for your help with this.
Blessings,
Mrs. Cathy Potts [email protected]
